There are currently only two ways to get internet in most of Woodcreek North. Either wireless or satellite. There are no wired providers except for Time Warner Cable service on the Southern edge of the subdivision.
Here are the most well know resources to get internet in Woodcreek North.
Wireless (unlimited data usage): This requires a small dish on your roof which picks up and relays a wireless signal to a local tower. Normally download speeds are 0.75 gig to 3 gig maximum. Wireless is unlimited usage – you can use as much data as you like, but the speeds are slower than satelltte. Wireless is not really affected by weather.
Recommended Wireless Provider: Texas Wireless Internet – www.txwinet.com. This provider offers the fastest service for the lowest price according to listed speeds and costs.
Other providers are Anvil Communications www.anvilcom.com and Vownet –www.vownet.net.
Satellite (faster but with data caps and overage fees): This requires a larger dish on your roof that beams a signal to a satellite. The huge factor with satellite is that you usage will be strictly limited. Do not chose this option if you use the internet a lot. Satellite can be affected by weather.
Recommended Satellite Provider: Exede Internet – http://www.exede.com/
This is one option that does not charge overage fees. Exede Satellite internet is a more viable option because it will give you 10 gig or 18 gig of internet at high speed, and then cut speed down to 1-5 ghz one you have used your high speed allocation. Keep in mind that many of the Wireless options only give you 1 or 1.5 ghz right from the start. Fees start around $60 a month for Exede which is comparable to the Wireless options.
Other Satellite Options:
Dish, Direct TV, Hughesnet also offer satellite options but when this article was written, they would grant you a usage allocation then charge overage fees if you exceeded your usage.
Remember, for internet access you can get a fast connection but your monthly allocation could be very small – allowing only limited access to the internet.
Also if you are living on close to either of the two South side entrances to the Woodcreek North subdivision, you may have Time Warner Cable. Check this first as it will probably be your cheapest and fastest option.
