October 2020: The Kiers
By Ashley Brown, Content Coordinator Wimberley Living Magazine
Becky and Todd Kier felt called to create Freedom Canines International early in their relationship. Freedom Canines International’s mission is: Pups Empowering People! As a 501(c)(3), they raise and train life-saving assistance dogs, partnering them with Texans in need who can benefit from their specialized skills at no charge. Becky and Todd both love training dogs, and they find so much fulfillment in using their talents to bring people independence, safety, and a better quality of live by pairing them with service dogs—specifically Diabetic Alert Dogs. Becky, Todd, and daughter Myka (7th grade) live in Woodcreek North along with their lab Shine, beagle River, and parakeet Cyrano de Birdiac (Cyro). Cyro is free to fly around the house and likes to land on heads.
On Saturday, October 24 at 9am, Todd and Becky will be at the Woodcreek park, across from the POA office, offering complimentary training tips. Bring your dog, say hello, and learn a new trick or two! This is also a great chance to check out all of the wonderful developments in the park, thanks largely to Tommy Potts.
TREAT BAGS WILL BE HANDED OUT FOR LITTLE TRICK -OR- TREATERS
