WPOA Monthly Board Meeting
Minutes: July 20, 2016, 7 pm
WPOA Office 501 Old Kyle Road, Suite 102
Meeting called to order by President Sweeton at 7:00 pm.
Attendees: Emory Jones, Wayne Baumgarten, Katresa Ray, DuAnne
Redus, Chris Scudder, Dottie Sweeton, Victoria Welsh.
Absent: Kemp Bromberg, Matt Lowry

Motion to approve Agenda: Sweeton; 2 nd by Welsh. Passed.
Discussion and possible action to approve minutes of June 15, 2016.
Motion by Welsh, 2 nd by Ray. Passed.
DuAnne Redus presented “Dark Sky Initiative” as an effort for Wimberley and surrounding area to be designated as “Dark Sky” area. After discussion with 10 homeowners in attendance. Motion made by Sweeton, 2nd by Baumgarten. The Board voted unanimously that we will promote the endeavor. Baumgarten will put info in newsletter and we will introduce at General Homeowner meeting in August. Resolution will be sent to committee with our signature.
Katresa Ray led discussion about possible options for heavy trash day, and will continue research to present with data.
1. President Report (Sweeton)
a. President updated the Board about park improvements while Emory was ‘on leave’. Smiles.
2. Treasurer Report (Ray) Ray reported that $25,000 was transferred from savings to operating account.
3. Committee Reports:
a. Road Committee –Scudder reported that Section 8 had improvements; bridge on E Valley Spring repaired.
Concentrating on Deeridge, Golf Crest and Redwood to prep for turnover to county. More paving to be done.
b. ACC Report – Jones reported 39 permits granted (pool, fences, greenhouse) including 22 new homes Several letters were sent in response to violations of deed restrictions.
c. Newsletter/Website: Baumgarten will inform neighbors about Dark Sky initiative, etc.
i. He also reported that Time-Warner is in planning/construction stage in the neighborhood.
