Memorial Day Flood Support
It has been over a month since the historic, and horrific, Memorial Day Flood of 2015 and things have certainly begun to quiet down. We all have stained clothes, ruined boots, and some, much, much more. Most of our neighbors learned something from this experience, we have felt and expressed sadness and grief for the loss of children and friends, we have worked with strangers and new friends side-by-side at homes to which we have never been, and we have all learned a lesson in what it means to be a community. Outdoor Burning Rules
Outdoor burning is allowed only under the following circumstances: Burning must be outside corporate limits and burning must be conducted downwind of or at least 300 feet from any structure containing sensitive receptors located on adjacent properties unless prior written approval is obtained from the adjacent occupant with possessory control. Burning shall not begin when the wind speed is greater than 15m.p.h. The initiation of burning shall commence no earlier than one hour after sunrise.
