Time Warner Cable Update
June 2016 UpdateSome months ago I undertook a project to convince Time Warner to bring cable to Woodcreek North and Wimberley Springs. The project was successful in that the Time Warner executive structure approved Woodcreek North as a construction project and we are currently in what they refer to as the "construction phase". We were originally programmed for construction to start very roughly in the summer, Aug-Sept. It could be a little later. Once construction starts the project is expected to take 12 months to complete. Again, approximately. We are hoping that service will be available at … [Read more...]

Oak Wilt – Protect Our Oaks
Wimberley has been dodging oak wilt for many years, but it's an epidemic in the Hill Country," says Eric Beckers of the Texas Forest Service. "Many surrounding areas have been devastated by oak wilt, which kills trees that add so much to our local property values. Wherever human activity is, it tends to crop up."How Oak Wilt SpreadsOak Wilt is a destructive fungus spread by beetles and other insects into oaks through fresh cuts. Here is how it works. A freshly cut or broken branch exudes sap. The smell of the sap brings the beetles or other insects to the sap to feed. But the beetles also … [Read more...]

This was the step needed to estimate feasibility to complete bringing service to our area.I was in touch with the TWC staff member who prepared that Design request package and an important part was the list of 288 local households who signed the petition for TWC services- almost all of them asking to get both internet and cable TV.Just a few days ago I was informed that the design had been completed and the entire … [Read more...]
